>>What is Hot Rolled Coils?
Hot Rolled Coils (HRC) refer to a form of steel that has undergone a specific manufacturing process known as hot rolling. In this process, large slabs or billets of steel are heated to high temperatures, typically around 1700°F (926°C) or above, and then passed through rolling mills.

>> Hot Rolled Coils Grade Specification!
Shiv Shakti Steel & metals stands out as a premier company in the manufacturing of Hot Rolled Coil Our commitment extends beyond manufacturing, encompassing the supply and global export of these plates. Designed in accordance with European standards, Sailma plates exhibit superior quality, excelling across diverse applications.
With a range of forms, finishes, and dimensions tailored to specific applications, our plates meet varied thickness and length requirements. We also specialize in manufacturing custom-sized and shaped plates to accommodate different needs. Notably, these plates exhibit remarkable properties, enduring chloride, and mild cyclic environments known for their corrosive nature.
Hot Rolled Coils showcase resistance to corrosive atmospheres, defying wear and tear even in challenging conditions. Their longevity is remarkable, withstanding exposure to chemicals such as sulphuric, phosphoric, nitric, organic, and inorganic acids. Moreover, the plates resist oxidation due to the formation of protective layers on their surfaces.
The high-tensile grade steel ensures exceptional strength, and SAILMA Structural Steel Plates are available in various grades like Hot Rolled Coils, M.S Coils, M.S Angle, Mild Steel Plate, Hot Rolled Steel Plate, Mild Cold Steel Plate, Mild Angle, High-Speed Steel Cold Rolled Sheet, among others. With high tensile strength, these plates find application in industries requiring robust load-bearing capacity. Their durability enables them to withstand high load pressure over time.
These steel plates find versatile applications in machine building, container construction, steel structures, bridge construction, vehicle manufacturing, transport, mobile equipment, automobile production, and architectural structures. Rigorous quality tests, including hardness, tensile strength, flaring, flattening, mechanical and chemical tests, PMI, visual inspection, and third-party inspections, ensure the reliability of SAILMA plates. This stringent quality control guarantees their long-term utility without succumbing to damage.

>> Difference Between Hot Rolled & cold Rolled Coilds
Hot rolled coils (HRC) and cold rolled coils (CRC) are two different forms of steel coils that undergo distinct manufacturing processes, resulting in differences in their properties and applications.
Manufacturing Process:
- Hot Rolled Coils (HRC): HRC are produced by heating slabs of steel above their recrystallization temperature, typically around 1700°F (926°C), and then rolling them into thin sheets. This process is quick and is carried out at high temperatures, allowing for the formation of a scaled surface on the steel.
- Cold Rolled Coils (CRC): CRC, on the other hand, are manufactured at room temperature or slightly below it. The steel is first hot rolled to the desired thickness and then further processed through cold reduction mills, where it is reduced to the final thickness while maintaining tight dimensional tolerances and a smoother surface.
Surface Finish:
- Hot Rolled Coils (HRC): HRC have a rough, scaled surface due to the cooling process after rolling. This surface finish is not as smooth as that of cold rolled coils.
- Cold Rolled Coils (CRC): CRC have a smoother and more polished surface compared to HRC. The cold rolling process results in a better surface finish with fewer imperfections.
Thickness Tolerance:
- Hot Rolled Coils (HRC): HRC have a wider thickness tolerance compared to CRC. The rapid cooling process can lead to variations in thickness.
- Cold Rolled Coils (CRC): CRC have a more precise and consistent thickness tolerance, making them suitable for applications requiring tight dimensional control.

>> Chemical Properties of Hot Rolled Coils
The chemical properties of Mild Steel (M.S) Coils and Steel Plates are determined by the composition of the steel, which includes various elements influencing its mechanical and physical characteristics. Here are the key chemical properties commonly associated with M.S Coils and Steel Plates:
Carbon (C):
- Mild steel contains a relatively low percentage of carbon.
- Carbon contributes to the strength and hardness of the steel.
- The carbon content in mild steel typically ranges from 0.05% to 0.25%.
Manganese (Mn):
- Manganese is often added to improve the strength and workability of mild steel.
- It helps in the formation of ferrite and pearlite phases during the steel’s solidification process.
Phosphorus (P) and Sulfur (S):
- These elements are considered impurities and are usually kept at low levels.
- Excessive phosphorus and sulfur can adversely affect the steel’s ductility and weldability.
